We GOT married.
But this WEBSITE isn’t about that.
It’s about the parties after the wedding…..the Reception Tour.
It’s about the parties after the wedding…..the Reception Tour.
We eloped. That’s right. Our actual wedding ceremony was on August 31st, and was limited to immediate family.
But don’t fret…we’re having a party, just for you.
Although our actual wedding ceremony was private, we invite you to join us at one (or more) of four planned stops on our tour.
Why do it this way?
It’s our “something new.” Collectively, we’ve been to over 50 weddings. Let’s spice it up a bit!
We can actually spend time with you. Many of our friends have said one of the regrets of their weddings were that they didn’t have time to spend with their friends and family. Let’s change that!
It’s our gift to you. No need to drop major dollars on flights, bridesmaid dresses, or Airbnbs. We want to make it easy as possible to have a blast.
Here are your next steps:
Decide which event you want to attend.
RSVP on this website so we know well in advance what our guest count will be for each event.
Figure out what you’re going to wear. Have fun with it. Themes are suggested, but not required.
Show up thirsty.
The Rules
Yes, you may attend more than one event.
No, please do not attend all of them.
You do not have to attend the event in your hometown.
Please dress according to theme. But you know, don’t stress out about it.
Expect a party, not a full wedding. No bouquet toss, no cake cutting. Just simple food (like a taco truck) and lots of beverages. Sorry to disappoint, but we’re not into pomp and circumstance, just fun events.
What are your options?

Bohemian Chic - but also warm. It gets chilly at night in LA! By boho, we just mean wear something flowy/hippie/etc. But no pressure….you can go your own way.
Note: Someone asked whether they could dress as actual tacos, who were also bohemian. Creativity is welcomed, but this is not necessary. Thank you for making our day, friends.

Sure! We’re open to all social media coverage of the Reception Tour. Feel free to share the idea and the website with your friends who are getting married, so you’re not forced to buy another awful bridesmaid dress.
Only friends and family on the invite list will receive the addresses for the events.
And yes, we’re open to accepting brand sponsorships.
We’ve got everything registered on Zola.com
You can find it below!
…or you can just Venmo us. Seriously, don’t be weirded out to Venmo us. It might sound tacky, but Zola takes a fee for cash, and Kate’s a personal finance nerd, so she hates fees. @k8eddie on Venmo. She promises to share it with Joey.
Also, we live in a tiny one bedroom home, so we don’t have a lot of room for objects. Contribute to our house fund instead, so we can actually have two rooms one day!
Joey Serxner and Kate Edwards met in January 2016 while working in the cramped two bedroom apartment of a startup. After two months of sitting next to one another, a crafty coworker sneakily arranged a team happy hour, then convinced everyone else not to come, resulting in an impromptu date.
Realizing his luck, Joey quickly swooped in, demonstrating value as quickly as possible through a series of handy tasks. Their second date was two days after the first, when they painted Kate’s bathroom together. Their third was homemade dinner. And so it began.
170+ recipes cooked together.
Multiple trips to foreign countries survived.
Thousands of dad jokes endured.
All of this led to Joey proposing to Kate at a wolf sanctuary in January 2019.
She said yes (she kinda had to, because of the wolves).
Now it’s time to write the next chapter of Kate and Joey.
We would love for you to be there to help us find the words.
